Almost 2 weeks ago we heard the tragic news that Alex, one of our riders for the upcoming ride had passed away during his break from Afghanistan and whilst in Europe. Today in Perth his family and friends said their good byes and our thoughts are with everyone who knew Alex. Although one of Scott's closet mates the 1step team never had the opportunity of meeting Alex in person, however his huge heart, generosity and incredible nature was clear simply through the incredible work he did for 1step1life. We are currently working on a way to ensure his memory and hard work lives on in Cambodia. The bike ride was designed to generate the money to make the dreams of others come true, Alex doesn't have the opportunity to live out his dreams, but his incredible kindness and passion has certainly made that possible for many others.
There’s little that can be done in a situation like this but if we all take the opportunity to remember Alex now and in the future, we will be doing all we can.
